riding the carefree highway

I remember one of my customers telling me that life moves fast when it’s going good. Man, was he right. Guess it’s a good thing though. So here I am again.. Staring at my laptop, with my journal beside me and all these little scribbles of notes and short feelings I had along the road. Trying to piece it together again and write this journey I just went on as raw and real as possible. It was special. Real special. All of life feels that way lately though and I think it’s because I’m just letting everything create me.. I met a lot of people along the road - still strangers but conversations that were meaningful enough I’m still thinking about a week later, visited places that the road took me to and ended up being some of my favorite memories and got that feeling of being back to myself. 5173 miles travelled basically on the Carefree Highway.

une lettre d'amour à Paris

The ultimate bucket list check off. It gave me goosebumps to be standing right infront of something you see so many pictures of. A sight you almost feel you know so well because you’ve seen it a million times. But like you’ll always hear - nothing compares to standing right there as a whole city screams as it lights up. Just such an awe inspiring moment. I cried knowing how that was such a once in a life time feeling. I’ll never see that for the first time again or feel that feeling again, it was so special. Knowing how that was such a moment in time.

CANOEING THROUGH KHAO SOK NP

Khao Sok National Park was the time of Thailand when I knew I had truly fallen in love, like I ripped a piece of my heart to leave here forever. Probably because it was halfway through my time in this beautiful country and it seemed more real to me that I was there. Probably because it’s the furthest I’ve ever felt away from home and the rest of the world.. Khao Sok just was the true reason for my loving of Thailand. We went from beaches and island hopping to a place that felt like Jurassic park.

KRABI THROUGH MY EYES // PT. 2

To be honest as I start to reminisce on my trip as I’m halfway through. Krabi left the biggest imprint on me. Maybe it was because it was a lot of firsts for me. First real big collaboration, first time seeing Thailand, first time getting involved with the culture and people, first time on a long tail boat.

It was a lot of firsts - therefore it’s a lot of memories left with me.

KRABI THROUGH MY EYES // PT. 1

Krabi, you are absolutely incredible.

I’m writing this as we take a shuttle to a pier where we’ll hop onto a ferry and then another shuttle to our hotel. Situated in the beautiful island of Koh Lanta

And I’m just reminiscing on these past four days as if it was all a dream. I felt like I had shut my eyes on the plane and never woke up. The views, the people, the culture, the vibes. Everything about Krabi had a warm welcome compared to anywhere  I’ve ever been.

It’s scary honestly, having all these moments I did the past few days. How amazing it all was, it feels like it wasn’t real. I’m honestly living in a dream, one I’m too scared to wake up from.

UTAH // One for the books

I feel like life the past couple weeks has been just one huge creation of my imagination.. Utah was something I don't think I could have even dreamed up. I booked my flight to California to visit Turner for that week a couple months ago, when I was in Yosemite last we threw the idea out there of going to Zion since it would be my first time. Not knowing we'd actually be headed there.

LIFE THE PAST 2 WEEKS // Oregon

Cierra picks me up at the airport from my California trip about 2PM and goes "Hey I got new drawers set up in my car with the mattress.. Trying to go to Oregon tonight or what?' Half kidding and half hoping I'd say yes probably. I laugh and ask where first.

She dropped me off at my house; I was again packing clothes into a bag to live out of for the week. Literally saying "Hi" and "Bye" to my dad at the same time as I'm walking out the door screaming I'm just going to Oregon. He knew as much as I did at that point though.

LIFE THE PAST 2 WEEKS // California

I texted Turner told him I was booking a ticket to California for the weekend and let's just see what happens. Lately my spontaneity for things have been overpowering me; something I wanted to let happen more of.

I literally threw random clothes in a bag hoping for the best the next day; wondering if I even packed enough and clothes right for California. After getting into LA and getting picked up we sort of talked about what we wanted to do for the weekend since I was going to be going to Palm Springs that next week to see my grandparents as well. Of course we said we'd play it by ear, the way things always go and the best way.

YOSEMITE

I've been lacking on my blog lately and especially on Instagram. So here's a little touch base with myself, life and you guys.

I worked like crazy all of January finishing up my month at Desert Sun. Went to Yosemite with Turner. We had planned for me to come down for 5 days with no intention of what we were doing. Yosemite was something that was floating around and next thing you know, I was standing eye to eye with El Captain lost in the view.
